Reclaiming the Middle Ground: Adventures in Radical Moderation
This course is geared toward reclaiming the middle ground for productive public conversation. Let's learn how to seek solutions over political point-making; engage history and Scripture; and discern how we might become agents of reconciliation, subverting hyper-partisanship in a quest for the common good.
Participants are encouraged toward understanding their own experiences within the broader framework of American political life. No principles need be compromised! Reclaiming the middle ground is an exercise in creating conditions conducive to productive dialogue -- not sacrificing core beliefs. Even in the midst of disagreement, however, learning how to effectively communicate and share our stories allows us to humanize the "other," creating conditions where God can be at work in all of our hearts and minds.
This course is designed for three 90-minute sessions, but can also be expanded to five sessions of shorter duration upon request. Please contact Laura Gifford for details regarding schedule availability and rates.
