This week I am thankful, among other things, for:

* fun with friends
* the 5-year-old's corn maze enthusiasm
* living in this beautiful part of the country
* fall!
* finished applications
* nice people
* the last hydrangea flowers of the season outside my office window
* a pint-sized kitchen helper
* healthy babies--and mothers
* a Sunderland win
* seeing the kid in a dress I once wore
* the mom who made the dress
* blue sky
* people who are kind enough to work on my behalf
* central heat
