thankful thursday

I've missed a few posts as we've been out of town on vacation.  Now we're back, so back to Thursdays and thanks...

This week I am thankful for:

* a wonderful nine days of enjoying Virginia, Washington, D.C. and some truly fabulous historical sites
* the kid's near-encyclopedic retention of historical facts (just try quizzing her on the Battle of Yorktown--so proud)
* pulled pork
* safe travels
* sunscreen
* great memories
* the beautiful pink-blooming trees we saw all over Virginia
* Sugah the hostess cat at the Shirley plantation
* seeing George Washington's famous false teeth!
* a kid who's a real trouper
* home
* conversations with great people
