A young pastor and blogger whom I enjoy following shared some poignant thoughts and prayers the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America has offered up regarding the tragedies in Boston, in Texas, and around the world this week:
Prayers
I appreciate all three, as well as Pastor Emily's words, but this one, in particular, speaks to me:
God, our refuge and strength, you have bound us together in a common life. In all our conflicts, help us to confront one another without hatred or bitterness, to listen for your voice amid competing claims, and to work together with mutual forbearance and respect; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Amen, indeed.
