optimism

The 7.5-year-old has just informed me the mystery novel she is currently writing will be the first of a series.  (The "Top Flight" series.  Guess what brand of spiral notebook she's using?)  She is a consistent reminder of the possibilities that lie before us when we ignore (or simply aren't aware of) perceived societal constraints.  I think "writing" and wander off down a road marked by complications, limitations and unanswered questions.  She asks Santa for notebooks and blithely begins "The Secret of Miss Brown's Ruby."  Who's likely to be more successful in her endeavors?  Here's hoping (praying) for the capacity to follow the kid's example!
