maintenance
It's a beautiful day today, and I've spent much of it working in the yard, so I've only got a minute to write before hauling the kid off to piano lessons. I planted a bunch of new flowers -- always very exciting -- but I also spent some time pruning a bedraggled old azalea that came with the house and pulling grass from the midst of a perennial flower of dubious background. Pruning... separating of (figurative) wheat from chaff (though I admit that what was actually going through my head was Cake's "sheep go to heaven... goats... go to hell"). Good things. I hope that my struggles to/hopes of doing rather than obsessing, of being rather than fruitlessly striving, bear similar fruit. Grace and peace to you this week.
