how much God gave to us that day!

God couldn't have given more.  After all, God gave God's very self... in human form.  Coming, as our pastor pointed out last Sunday, into the messy, problem-filled world.  A pretty sure sign that we are meant to be active in it.  The Jesus story should be the definitive corrective to any notion that we should focus on life-after-death at the expense of lives in this one.  God is a both/and kinda deity.  Thanks be to God for this demonstration that love extends to us as we are, where we are.
